Plans for summer

Hello all,
This summer I am going to selectively bake my way through a cookbook called Sinfully Easy Delicious Desserts by Alice Medrich. This book contains all of her tips, magical ingredients and tools as well as many different recipes and ideas. In her book she explains how to make; ice cream without an ice cream maker; cakes that can be made in a short amount of time that taste great and are NOT from a box; puddings that are just right; really quick pies, tarts, and meringues that will make your mouth water; small sweet bites to go with your afternoon tea; and lovely fruit dishes.

I am exited to dig into this book and create some of these wonderful dishes that Medrich has detailed for people like you and me.

  1. I’ll be interested how you like the recipes. I have the book as well and made the Corn Pudding with Cranberries. The bread topping was lovely, but with only maple syrup as a sweetener, the cranberries were WAY too tart. If I made it again, the cranberry sauce would need sugar.

I am sorry it has taken me so long. I took a break to focus on my education and my sports. Thank you for the tip on about the Corn Pudding and cranberry sauce being much too tart. I will take that into account if I use that recipe. I did make many of the recipes from Sinfully easy delicious desserts but was unable to post about them. My favorites were the sorbets! These had a perfect tang and sweetness to them. Perfect on a hot summers day!
